Mädchen Amick Posts a ‘Riverdale’ Throwback Video to Announce She Will Direct Another Episode
Our favorite Riverdale mom, Mädchen Amick, who plays Alice Cooper, has shared with fans that she will be directing another episode of the hit CW series this season.
She directed her first episode “Killing Mr. Honey,” which turned into the improvised season four finale when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and most TV and film production shut down as they were unable to finish the remaining episodes.
Her Instagram video showed a day on set this time last year, which showed many familiar faces from the cast and the beloved Riverdale High set that fans will recognize. Amick is also front and center in many of these photos as she analyzes a shot setup or plans through the blocking of the next scene, tackling her new role of director.
Knowing how difficult it is to bring female talent into more powerful roles behind-the-scenes, this is certainly inspiring to see a current actress direct for the show she stars in.
Amick has an outstanding career as a hit TV actress starting with the show Twin Peaks. She has guest-starred in Dawson’s Creek, Gilmore Girls, ER, Gossip Girl, Witches of East End, and many more.

Considering she typically acts in these shows, stepping into the role of director was completely new, however, she handled it so well. Prep for her newest episode begins next week.
