Cynthia Erivo is the latest cast member to join Disney+ and Robert Zemeckis’ remake of the 1940 classic, Pinocchio.

When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true, at least in Cynthia Erivo’s case. Erivo took to social media to announce she will be playing the Blue Fairy in the live-action remake of the beloved film Pinocchio. The Blue Fairy is a magical character. She functions as a companion to Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket. In addition, she fulfills Geppetto’s wish for Pinocchio to become a real boy.

Erivo is in great company for this remake. Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be playing Jiminy Cricket, Tom Hanks is playing Geppetto, Keegan-Michael Key is playing Honest John, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth is the title role – Pinocchio.

Fans have taken to social media to voice their support for Erivo’s new role. With the star-studded cast, fans are eagerly awaiting more information on the film, showing their excitement in the meantime.

Zemeckis’ remake will make its debut on Disney+. Production will begin in the UK starting in April 2021. Fans of the beloved fantasy should get their Disney+ subscription for this can’t-miss production.
