Dove Cameron, Chloe Bennet, and Yana Perrault Are The CW’s ‘Powerpuff Girls’
The Powerpuff Girls is being turned into a live-action teen drama for The CW and the series has just cast its three leading ladies.
So far, the plot is about the Powerpuff girls, who are now adults undergoing a mid-life crisis. Dove Cameron, Chloe Bennet, and Yana Perrault have all carried great projects in the past and will no doubt master these characters.
Cameron is playing Bubbles, with a not so bubbly character arc. Fans are thrilled with the casting choices as each actress revealed their role. She is known for her roles in Disney’s Liv and Maddie and the Descendants films.

Blossom, portrayed by Bennet, will take the leadership role to bring the girls together after being away from each other. The actress is best known for her role in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which was also a superhero drama series.

Perrault is Buttercup, and while the series will be her acting debut, she is no stranger to theater or singing. She currently holds a role in the Broadway musical Jagged Little Pill.
Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier will be writing the show, which will be directed by Maggie Kiley. It will definitely be a fresh take on the legendary cartoon.

The CW has not announced an official release date as of yet, but the cast is delighted to be on the project and has shared their excitement via social media.

Fans of Cameron recalled an 8-year-old tweet where she expressed her desire to tackle the role of Bubbles in a movie. This announcement makes for a sweet full-circle moment for the actress.
