Elle Fanning Will Star in Upcoming Film ‘Francis and the Godfather’
Elle Fanning will take on a new role to join actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Elisabeth Moss in the upcoming film Francis and the Godfather.
The film is based upon the classic American crime film series that was produced in 1972. The upcoming film will focus on the drama behind the scenes of filming the original movie The Godfather. Fanning will play Ali Mcgraw in the movie, who at the time was married to Paramount’s head of production, Robert Evans. She will join an impressively stacked cast, including Oscar Issac as Francis Ford Coppola, Jake Gyllenhaal as Robert Evans, and Elisabeth Moss as Elenor Coppola, with Barry Levinson directing the film.

Francis and the Godfather will focus on the disagreements between director Francis Ford Coppola and producer Robert Evans. Coppola is well known for creating the iconic film series known as The Godfather. The film series consisted of three films that were heavily recognized for their success. To this day, the films are considered some of the greatest to have ever been created. Filming is set to begin sometime in 2022, and no release date has been announced.

Fanning has been on her toes as she recently was cast in a Hulu drama titled The Great. She will also be featured in the limited series The Girl From Plainville.
