Gigi Hadid has officially said goodbye to her blonde hair and taken on a new redhead look inspired by The Queen’s Gambit.

Gigi Hadid recently made her first return to the runway since welcoming her five-month-old daughter, Kahi, with her boyfriend, Zayn Malik. The supermodel made her grand entrance at Versace’s Milan Fashion Week show, as a redhead. Hadid first shared the process of going ginger with fans on her Instagram Story.

Hadid kicked off her transformation with a picture of the dye being applied at the salon on February 26 by hairstylist Panos Papandrianos.

The model then flaunted the stunning results and referenced Netflix’s hit series. In an Instagram story, Hadid shared, “She is dedicated to everyone responsible for The Queen’s Gambit”.

The new mom says she was inspired to go for a fresh look after having seen Anya Taylor-Joy’s character, Beth Harmon in The Queen’s Gambit. In fact, the American actress of British and Argentine descent, Taylor-Joy, revealed that her character’s fiery bob is actually a wig. “I was very happy to dye my hair but there were days where we were going between five different ages in a day and that’s just not possible with your own hair,” the actress explained. Nonetheless, she wasn’t the only one to envision Beth as a redhead. Luckily, Daniel Parker, the show’s lead hair and makeup artist was on the same page.
