K-Pop Group NCT Connects With Fans on Twitter’s New Spaces Feature

NCT is the first K-Pop group to utilize Twitter's new function called Spaces. Spaces allow users to start an audio chat with other users of their choice with a maximum of 11 speakers (including the host) at a time. Spaces are public and allow anyone to join as a listener, which has no limit to the number of users. Although listeners could not talk during the chat, NCT members made everyone feel included.

Mark acted as the host and moderator for “NCT’s space” through the official Twitter account. Multiple members made appearances into the space; Jungwoo joined from NCT 127’s account, Ten, Yangyang, and Xiaojun joined from WayV’s account, and Jeno attempted to join from NCT DREAM’s account.

Although fans could not directly talk during the conversation, the members made sure that everyone felt engaged. They even read participants’ usernames and greeted them.

They promoted WayV’s comeback “Kick Back” and Jungwoo even serenaded fans with many songs throughout the live.

Twitter Spaces allows fans to feel more personally connected in the app, bringing a live video stream to the platform. For the K-Pop fans, it is a fun new way for idols and fans across the world to interact.

While the Spaces feature is new to Twitter, many groups and celebrities are beginning to use the addition to interact with their following. As their last Spaces live was such a success, make sure to keep an eye on NCT’s Twitter for their next live.
