Kaley Cuoco Has Been Cast as Doris Day in a Limited Series for Warner Bros TV, ‘Doris Day: Her Own Story’

Kaley Cuoco has been tapped to play the legendary Doris Day in a limited series based on A.E. Hotchner’s 1976 biography Doris Day: Her Own Story. Cuoco, The Big Bang Theory alum, and The Flight Attendant star will be portraying Hollywood legend Doris Day in an upcoming limited series. Doris Day had an incredible career in show business where she began acting in movie musicals in the 1940s.

Some key performances by Day include Calamity Jane (1953), The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956), and Pillow Talk (1959), where she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Day had been a singer and an animal rights activist. She died in 2019 at the age of 97.

Kaley Cuoco will be teaming up with Warner Bros yet again, a company she has maintained a close relationship with since 2007 when she took the role as Penny in the critically acclaimed comedy series The Big Bang Theory, which ran for twelve seasons. More recently, Cuoco has starred in The Flight Attendant as Cassandra Bowden. Cuoco had been nominated for a Golden Globe for her role as Cassie in The Flight Attendant, which will be continuing for a second season.

Cuoco’s latest endeavor will be her most challenging role yet. Cuoco took to Instagram and shared with her 6.6 million followers the perfect caption: “Que sera, sera, whatever will be will be, the future’s not ours to see, Que sera, sera.” Cuoco has never portrayed a real-life person before but she sure seems up to the challenge.
