Harry Styles Takes Home His First Ever Grammy For Best Pop Solo Performance
Harry Styles hit single, “Watermelon Sugar” won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance at the 63rd annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, March 14.
After Styles’ outstanding performance for “Watermelon Sugar” which opened up the night of the award show, he went on to win his first-ever Grammy. The singer took the lead in the category out of nominees, Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, and Taylor Swift.
When the 27-year-old singer took the stage wearing his yellow plaid jacket and pink boa to accept the Grammy he stated, “This was the first song we wrote after my first album came out during a day off in Nashville, and I just want to say thank you to Tom, Tyler, and Mitch … Rob Stringer and everyone at Columbia” he continued, “My manager, Jeffrey, who has always nudged me to be better and never pushed me-I feel very grateful to be here”.
Styles released “Watermelon Sugar” as a promotional single for his second studio album, Fine Line which was released in 2019. The single hit top ten in over 20 countries, making it Styles’ first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
