K-pop Supergroup BTS Sweeps the Kids’ Choice Awards, Taking Home Three Awards
Big Hit Entertainment’s k-pop supergroup BTS was proven to be a fan-favorite at this year’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, by winning all three awards they were nominated for. The band was nominated in the categories of Favorite Musical Group and Favorite Global Music Star, as well as Favorite Song for their chart-topping hit “Dynamite.” BTS showed their gratitude through their acceptance speech. Each of the seven members made an appearance to thank fans while holding the iconic orange blimps.
The Korean boy group made the most wins, gaining the title of most wins of the night, winning in every category they were nominated in. For Favorite Music Group, BTS was competing against Black Eyed Peas, Jonas Brothers, Maroon 5, OneRepublic, and fellow k-pop group BLACKPINK. They also won Favorite Global Music Star and Favorite Song for “Dynamite.”

The acceptance speech video was streamed live during the award show. Lasting around 50 seconds, the speech featured all of the boys accepting the trophy for all three awards. Group leader, RM, begins the speech by catching the award falling from the sky. He announces, “Oh, what a surprise, thank you Kids Choice Awards and Army for giving us all these amazing awards.” Each of the members passed the awards through, sharing their gratitude.
