‘Killing Eve’ Will End With Season 4 on AMC
On March 16, the official Twitter account of the AMC hit television series, Killing Eve, announced the British spy-thriller starring Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh will return for one final season in 2022. The show received widespread critical acclaim and accolades since it premiered in 2018, with Comer taking home the “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series” Emmy in 2019. Additionally, Oh made history in 2018, when she became the first woman of Asian descent to earn an “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series” nomination 2018, a feat she repeated in 2019 and 2020.
Based on Luke Jennings’ Villanelle book series, the show names a new female head writer for each season, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge in season one, Emerald Fennell in season two, and Suzanne Heathcote in season 3. Laura Neal serves as Killing Eve’s fourth season’s head writer, showrunner, and executive producer.

In a statement for the final season, Oh called Killing Eve “one of my greatest experiences.”
“I’m so grateful for all cast and crew who have brought our story to life and to the fans who have joined us and will be back for our exciting and unpredictable fourth and final season,” Oh said.
No one talk to me. Killing Eve won’t come out until next summer, and it’s the final season. I am very emotional.

Likewise, Comer reflected on her “most extraordinary journey” and “will be forever grateful” for the series.
Sally Woodward Gentle, Gina Mingacci, Lee Morris, Damon Thomas, Oh, and Waller-Bridge, serve as Killing Eve‘s executive producers. In addition to Oh and Comer, the show also stars Fiona Shaw and Kim Bodnia.

While fans may mourn the series’ close, the President of Original Programming for AMC Networks, Dan McDermott, has alluded to possible spinoffs set in the Killing Eve universe.
“We could not be more thankful for the extraordinary talents and efforts of everyone involved, particularly Sandra and Jodie, who made Killing Eve much more than a television show,” McDermott said. “We look forward to what is sure to be an unforgettable final season and to exploring potential extensions of this compelling universe.”
BBC America and AMC co-distribute the series to American audiences, with both networks airing episodes co-currently. Killing Eve is available for streaming on Hulu.
