The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers is a follow-up to her 2017 album, The Order of Time. Her latest album has been produced by Jack Splash, most notably known for working with artists like Alicia Keys and John Legend. When making this record, June shared in a statement to Fantasy Records, “With this record, it finally became clear why I have this dream of making music. It’s not for earthly reasons of wanting to be awarded or to win anybody’s love—it’s because dreaming keeps me inquisitive and keeps me on that path of learning what I have to share with the world. When we allow ourselves to dream like we did when we were kids, it ignites the light that we all have within us and helps us to have a sort of magic about the way we live.” This album proves to be ambitious.
For those that are fans of the musical genres bluegrass, blues, country, folk, gospel, and soul, Valerie June is a great addition to any playlist. Follow Valerie June on Twitter to keep up with her on the latest and watch her performance on Seth Meyers below.
