South Korean Singer-Songwriter IU Releases Video Teaser for Fifth Album ‘Lilac’
South Korean singer-songwriter IU is finally releasing her fifth album titled LILAC on March 25 at 6 pm KST. The k-pop solo artist originally began teasing the album in January by posting images on her Instagram account with varying captions including the words ‘IU 5TH ALBUM.’ The singer also revealed a short teaser clip previewing the album back in January. On Tuesday, March 23 she released another video teaser for the album. IU shared the album release date with fans and showed her dance moves to tease the new songs.
The latest teaser was shared on YouTube and lasts almost 40 seconds, promoting the music video for “LILAC.” The teaser includes IU herself walking onto a train platform. She stuns in a lilac-colored dress, eventually dancing along with back-up dancers to the background music. The video includes many little details to promote the album. It portrays a sign in the background containing the titles of her albums and singles. The clip also shows IU holding a train ticket which reveals the album release date of March 25 and a boarding time of 03:25. Fans of IU are having fun pointing out the little clues hidden within the video.
The album, which will be the solo artist’s fifth studio album, will contain ten songs. This includes the already-released song “Celebrity.” The song was released on January 27 and has gathered over 25 million streams on Spotify. There will be two title tracks included in the album, “LILAC” and “Coin.” Fans can also expect a collaboration with South Korean singer DEAN.

The album is being promoted with promoted hashtags #LILAC and #IU, which, when used, will appear with a purple lilac flower next to the hashtag. Fans of the k-pop star are highly anticipating the album, using the special hashtags to share their thoughts on the release.
LILAC by IU will be available to stream on March 25 at 6 pm KST and is available for pre-order now for $59.99 on daebak.
