The 4 season drama series, Insecure star and co-creator, Issa Rae, has decided to renew her commitment with the well-known company, WarnerMedia, by bringing in her media label, Hoorae into the partnership. The five-year contract with Warner Bros television entails that Rae will be part of developing TV projects for HBO, HBO Max, and Warner Bros.

Rae’s previous contract with HBO was signed in 2016, which was when she teamed up with HBO before the airing of Insecure. Rae is valued by Warner as she is currently at the top of their talent list. Insecure was known to be a hit for HBO, this new deal will provide Rae with a platform to showcase her incredible work.

Rae stated in a late interview with Variety that, “It’s really exciting to have that flexibility and just deepen the relationship that we already have.” She continued, “Hoorae already had at least 15 projects in various stages of development with them, so we’d been working with them on the drama side, the unscripted side, and the documentaries side for a couple years now.”

Rae took to Instagram on March 23 to share that she is the cover for Variety by captioning the post, “Thinking of a Master Plan. With the HOORAE Heads that make it all possible.”

HBO’s Max Chief Content Officer, Casey Bloys told Variety that Insecure has expanded HBO’s audience due to its younger and diverse cast. Since his involvement with HBO Max he realized people tune into the comedy when signing up for the streaming service.

Bloys explained, “She’s obviously very talented and she’s very prolific” he continued, “It’s been very good to work with Issa personally, but also as a company, because she’s seeded a lot of talent elsewhere.”

Rae has been busy as Insecures fifth and final season is in the works, along with her other numerous projects that are in the works with HBO, which includes a second season of A Black Lady Sketch Show that is set for release in April, amongst many other works.
