Hilary Duff Welcomes Her New Baby Girl Mae

Actress Hilary Duff (Younger, Lizzie McGuire) is officially a mom of three when she welcomed daughter Mae James Bair with husband, Matthew Koma, on March 24. Mae is Duff's second child with Koma; the two are already parents to daughter Banks Violet Bair. Duff is also a mother to Luca Cruz Comrie from her previous marriage to Mike Comrie.

Actress Hilary Duff (Younger, Lizzie McGuire) is officially a mom of three when she welcomed daughter Mae James Bair with husband, Matthew Koma, on March 24. Mae is Duff’s second child with Koma, the two are already parents to their daughter Banks Violet Bair. Duff is also a mother to Luca Cruz Comrie from her previous marriage to Mike Comrie.

Duff announced the birth of her daughter with a black and white photo on Instagram captioned, “Mae James Blair- We love you beauty 3-24-21” The picture showed Duff holding her daughter after an at-home birth, surrounded by her husband and children.

Duff delivered Mae during an at-home water birth with a six-person birthing crew. The team included Koma, Molly Bernard, Juli Anderson, Lindsey Rei, Lauren Guilford, and a midwife from the Birthing Rhythm Midwifery.

The actress and singer announced her pregnancy back in October 2020. Duff and Koma did not reveal the sex of the child until after she was born. Despite fans believing Duff’s blue hair was a clue, when she posted to Instagram in February revealing her new hair.

Since Duff announced the news of her baby girl, fans have took to Twitter to congratulate her on the birth of her third child.

Moreover, in an episode of the Informed Pregnancy Podcast with Dr. Elliot Berlin, that neither she nor her husband knew the sex of their child, but that “everyone that’s close to me thinks it’s a boy.”

Duff’s pregnancy follows an eventful few years for the actress. In 2018, the actress gave birth to her second child and married Koma the following year. She’s also starred in Younger since 2015 and launched the “Veeda in Action” campaign, which aims to end period poverty and decrease the stigma surrounding periods.

Meanwhile, four days before giving birth, Duff released her first children’s book, My Little Brave Girl. She previously authored a young adult trilogy series called Elixer, which includes novels ElixirDevoted, and True.
