“Thank you to the SAG-AFTRA for placing me in the company of these uniquely and consistently funny women. I share this with Annie Murphy,” O’Hara said during her virtual acceptance. Murphy plays the role of Alexis Rose on Schitt’s Creek and was also nominated in the category along with Christina Applegate and Kaley Cuoco. “I’m flattered anyone might believe I could be her mother. She is a beautiful soul.”

After decades of appearing onscreen, O’Hara’s win last night made history. She has officially become the fourth person to win a category in all five TV awards for one season. This past year, O’Hara took home an Emmy, Golden Globe, Critics Choice Award, was recognized in The Television Critics Association, and now has a SAG Award to add to her collection.

O’Hara’s history-making win is no surprise, the cast and creators of Schitt’s Creek have excelled during this year’s awards. The show took away more SAG awards last night, including Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Cast.

“Their hilariously empathetic storytelling gave me and everyone in the town, for which I am currently estranged, every possible chance to love, be loved, make happy fools of ourselves, and blossom into the best we could be,” O’Hara said in her acceptance of cast mates and show writers Dan and Eugene Levy.

So while we may have said goodbye to the Rose family and Schitt’s Creek this year, it feels good to know that the cast is being sent off in good spirits, recognition, and an abundance of well-deserved awards.
