Rihanna Makes An Appearance at The #StopAsianHate March in NYC
Bad Gal RiRi supports the Asian community in standing up against the Asian hate crimes that have unfortunately increased across the U.S. The pop star recently made an appearance at a “Stop Asian Hate” rally in incognito mode with her assistant, Tina Truong. On Truong’s Instagram story, Rihanna was also seen working on a neon sign that read, “Hate=Racism Against God!”
The makeup mogul recently joined the fight against Anti-Asian hate crimes by taking to the streets of New York City. Alongside her assistant Tina Truong, Rihanna was almost undetectable carrying the neon sign that read, “Stop Asian Hate” on one side and “Hate=Racism Against God!” on the other.
The songstress was undercover dressed in a black Burberry baseball cap, dark shades, and an oversized Avirex leather jacket.
Sadly, Anti-Asian xenophobia has risen since the beginning of the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. On March 16, a series of mass shootings targeting Atlanta-area spas left eight innocent people dead, including six Asian women. The incident clearly reflected a hate crime linked to racism and misogyny against Asian women.
Shortly after the shootings, Rihanna took to Instagram to speak out describing the heinous act as “Brutal”, “Disgusting” and “certainly not an isolated incident.”
Recently, Truong posted a slideshow of photos and videos of the songstress participating in the rally to her Instagram. Additionally, Rihanna successfully managed to remain undercover to a point where a fellow protester was in absolute disbelief when he asked for her Instagram handle.
