Miley Cyrus Is the Face Of Gucci Aria Collection in a Self-Directed Video
Miley Cyrus has shared a 45-second short film revealing her to be the star of Alessandro Michele’s latest Gucci campaign, Aria. Cyrus directed the film herself, and it is everything we could ever hope for. It’s both playful and relaxing to watch. As the film begins, a light pink font reading, “Un court-métrage de Miley” (A Short Film by Miley) appears in French.
On April 14, Cyrus took to Instagram posting the short film captioned, “a short selfie film directed by muahhhhh”. Viewers can see a lounging Cyrus in the grass throwing confetti in the air and at the camera. In other scenes, Cyrus is hanging with her beloved dogs and frolicking around oversized mushrooms. The song Cyrus selects for the short film is folk singer Melanie’s iconic 1971 hit, “Brand New Key.”
As with anything Cyrus wears, she rocks the Gucci look. She wears a green Gucci logo jacket, matching high-waisted pants, and a white shirt. To complete the look, Cyrus wears silver platform shoes and oversized glasses. The singer appears to be dressed like she’s living like it’s the 1970s. Melanie’s “Brand New Key” fits the scene perfectly, as the song was a huge hit in the 70s. Cyrus took to social media to share her love of the 70s and Melanie by simply calling the pop-folk legend a “hippie goddess.”
The film ends with Cyrus completing puzzles from a “Gucci Quiz” pamphlet before miming a cut motion and declaring the video a wrap. Meanwhile, Gucci posted photos and clips of celebrities like Serena Williams, Chris Lee, and Jared Leto with the same “Gucci Quiz.”
Since Cyrus posted the self-directed video, fans have expressed their excitement to see Cyrus in the new Gucci campaign to Twitter.
