McDonald’s Announces New Menu Collaboration With K-Pop Group BTS
BTS recently announced the news of their BTS Meal item for the McDonald’s menu, that will be available for purchase in the United States on May 26. Soon after, the menu item will be sold in over 50 countries and across six continents worldwide.
Launch dates in these countries have been released on McDonald’s’ Twitter. The company also changed their username to match BTS’ as well as adding a purple heart to commemorate the group’s fandom color. The account pinned an image of fries in the shape of BTS’s iconic logo with the words, “Coming this May: The BTS Meal” written above.
The BTS Meal was announced to have a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets with medium fries and a medium drink. Alongside this, there will be two new dipping sauces inspired by South Korean cuisine: Sweet Chili and Cajun.

This is the not first time McDonald’s has collaborated with artists on their own menu items. In just the past year, both the Travis Scott Burger and the J Balvin Meal came out. The Travis Scott Burger caused such a commotion that many stores immediately ran out of key ingredients. Currently, there has been no news on how long the BTS Meal will last. Unlike BTS’s deal, the Travis Scott Burger was only available in select locations across the U.S.
These celebrity-McDonald’s collaborations have been in such high demand, and the BTS Meal is anticipated to have even higher results. This partnership has already given both sides unprecedented attention. Mainly BTS’s fanbase, Army, has taken to all social media platforms to promote the news.

The seven-member boy group is a two-time platinum-certified artist with their albums “Love Yourself: Answer” and “Map of the Soul: 7”. The group has been to the Billboard, American, and Grammy Music Awards as the first Korean artists to ever win or perform at these events. They have also broken unimaginable records in the short time that K-pop has risen to popularity, some of which include having the most amount of streams on YouTube in twenty-four hours. They are a crucial pillar to the K-pop industry and are also thriving in the American pop scene, especially after the merging of HYBE Corporations with Ithaca Holdings.
To keep up to date for any incoming news of the partnership be sure to follow BTS on Twitter and Instagram accounts.
