Netflix Releases First Look Photos of ‘Halston’ and Premiere Date
In honor of the late fashion designer Halston’s 89th birthday, Netflix announced that its latest Ryan Murphy production, Halston, would premiere on May 14. The streaming giant also shared a series of first-look images and a set of Polaroids featuring cast members Ewan McGregor, Krysta Rodriguez and Bill Pullman, among others.
Based on the real-life story of Roy Halston Frowick (played by McGregor), Halston centers around the designer fighting to maintain his role as the defining icon of luxury and fashion in the New York City of the 1970s and 80s. The Netflix miniseries will chart Halston’s downfall as a “hostile takeover forces him to battle for control of his most precious asset… the name Halston itself.”
He would do anything to make a name for himself.

Moreover, Krysta Rodriguez portrays Halston’s close friend, Liza Minnelli, while Culkin plays his long-time friend and collaborator Joel Schumacher.
Murphy and frequent collaborator Ian Brennan serve as the miniseries’ executive producers alongside Pamela Koffler, Eric Kovtun, McGregor, Daniel Minahan, Christine Vachon, Sharr White, and Alexis Martin Woodall. Minahan also directed the series.

Halston is the latest installment in Murphy‘s $300 million Netflix deal, which includes shows like Hollywood, The Politician, Ratched, and films like The Prom and The Boys in the Band.
