According to the Tribeca Film Festival Roadrunner will be honored “with the same energy, curiosity, and deep humanity that made Anthony Bourdain the superstar whose life touched so many.” It will be considered as a “spotlight documentary.”
Bourdain made a name for himself as a world renowned chef, bestselling author, TV host, and more as he spent his life traversing the world looking for interesting people and exciting cuisine. His 2000 book “Kitchen Confidential” showed readers a ‘behind the scenes look’ at the restaurant industry in the United States. His CNN series Parts Unknown won 12 Emmys over it’s five-year production and he worked with ABC and Food Network to produce and appear in a variety of cooking shows. Over time, Bourdain became a beacon of culture, storytelling, and cuisine.

Meanwhile, the circumstances of his death continued the much-needed conversation surrounding mental health and one’s public image. He was an inspiration for many, which is what Roadrunner sets out to share with the world.
