Chris Pratt Battles Aliens and Time in New Trailer for ‘The Tomorrow War’ From Amazon
Chris Pratt battles aliens while saving humanity in the first trailer for the sci-fi- thriller The Tomorrow War, set for release on Amazon Prime on July 2. Pratt plays high school teacher Dan Forrester, who joins a group of time travelers as they fight a war against an alien species 30 years into the future. The Tomorrow War is directed by Chris McKay (Lego Batman Movie) and written by Zach Dean.
“In The Tomorrow War, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet,” Amazon stated in it’s official synopsis.
The Tomorrow War boasts a respected cast including Yvonne Strahovski, J.K. Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, and Keith Powers. Pratt’s character will lead the cast on his journey to fight a future war while confronting his past.
For such a gritty film, fans are looking forward to the humor and relief Pratt brings to all of his work.

Not only is the trailer action-packed, but it’s visually stunning as well. The first photo stills released show Pratt and others armed and ready to fight some unknown force. In another striking image, a group of people look out over a rooftop towards a crumbling city burning in the background.
The Tomorrow War also marks the first film that Pratt is an executive producer on. Back in 2019 when the movie began production, Pratt let fans know about the process of picking a title – which would eventually become The Tomorrow War.
Mind Freaking Blown! This is going to be the Greatest And Best Film Of The Year! It was worth the wait thank you! Chills and the edge of my seat about to scream holy shit!

“So get ready, cause I’m gonna auction off a set visit very soon. Details coming. And you’re gonna be seeing a lot of pics and posts from set!!!” Pratt posted to Instagram in 2019.
Developed by Skydance Media, Amazon acquired distribution of The Tomorrow War from Paramount Pictures for a reported $200 million. A movie with such high stakes needed the involvement of countless producers, including David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Jules Daly, David Goyer, Adam Kolbrenner. Pratt was joined for executive production by Rob Cowan, Brian Oliver, and Bradley J. Fischer.
Judging by the response to the initial trailer alone, The Tomorrow War is bound to be a summer blockbuster hit. For now all we have is this teaser, but pre-orders of the movie will be available on Amazon Prime soon.
