Billie Eilish Releases Powerful Song and Video for ‘Your Power’
Billie Eilish just released her heartfelt new song “Your Power” along with the accompanying music video, and fans can’t get enough. This is the first single off of Eilish’s sophomore album, Happier Than Ever, which will be released on July 30. The singer first announced the song and album’s release earlier this week, along with the 16-song tracklist.
“Your Power” is Eilish’s most vulnerable song yet, with lyrics that tug on heartstrings. The 19-year-old didn’t fully disclose the inspiration for writing the song, but it describes a man who takes advantage of a younger girl in a seemingly abusive relationship. The song has a similar sound to some of Eilish’s recent singles like “my future” and “everything i wanted.” It’s slower and more acoustic and really highlights her vocals, which have clearly grown over the years.
The video for “Your Power” is simple, but beautiful. Eilish is alone in the mountains with a large snake wrapped around her body. The snake nearly suffocates her, making it nearly impossible to escape, similar to being in a toxic relationship. This is the first music video with her new platinum blonde hair, which she debuted last month.
Happier Than Ever has been highly anticipated since the release of her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? back in 2019. The album was very well-received and reached the number one spot in several countries. It also earned her a Grammy for Album of the Year last year.

Fans are loving “Your Power” and its video, along with Eilish’s newer, more adult sound. “Your Power” made many emotional, and they’re applauding Eilish for her courage and vulnerability. The video is number one on YouTube’s trending videos and already has over four million views in just over five hours.
