Selena Gomez to Star in Drake Produced Psych-Thriller ‘Spiral’

Selena Gomez will star in a new psychological thriller called Spiral, executively produced by Drake. Selena Gomez will star in a new psychological thriller called Spiral, executively produced by Drake. Spiral‘s additional executive producers include Matthew Budman, Sumaiya Kaveh, and Adel Nur, who executively produced the show Euphoria. Joining the list is Petra Collins, who has previously collaborated with Gomez, and is now set to be the director of the thriller.

According to Deadline, Spiral‘s plot will follow a former influencer that is addicted to social media, with the addiction causing “her body to literally fall apart.”

On the topic of the plot, Deadline reports, that Phoebe Fisher wrote the most recent version of the script, while Collins and Melissa Broder penned the original draft. With many well-known names taking a part in the creation of the thriller, Spiral is expected to grab the attention of many fans.

Petra Collins, the director of Spiral, previously worked with the 28-year-old actress. In the past, Collins was the director of Gomez’s music video “Fetish.” According to Teen Vogue, the “Fetish” music video visuals were inspired by “their mutual love of horror films.” Now, fans of Gomez and Collins are excited to see what the two successful collaborators will create in the upcoming psychological thriller.

In between taking on acting roles, Gomez has launched a mental health campaign called Mental Health 101. Gomez’s goal is to bring more mental health services to schools by posting facts and encouraging fans to take action with her. Along with the campaign, Gomez began the Rare Impact Fund, which is a fundraiser dedicated to creating more accessible mental health resources.
