Conan Gray Teases New Song ‘Astronomy’
On Tuesday, May 4, singer-songwriter Conan Gray took to Twitter to announce his newest song, “Astronomy.” The single will premiere later this week, on May 7, which happens to coincide with this year’s International Space Day. It is unknown if the song has anything to do with space other than the title, as Gray has yet to release the song’s lyrics.
However, fans can get a sneak peek at the song’s contents if they choose to pre-save the single. Each day until the launch, Gray will release a lyric of the song exclusively to the fans who decide to pre-save the song on Spotify. The lyric sample released on Tuesday formed the phrase “we drive through the woods.”

“Astronomy” is his second song this year, following the February release of “Overdrive.” Gray’s debut album, Kid Krow, reached number one on the Billboard’s Top Pop Albums chart, number two on the Top Album Sales chart, and number five on the Top 200 chart.

Moreover, “Astronomy,” is not the first time Gray has teased about upcoming music on his Twitter platform. Before he dropped Kid Krow, he took to Twitter to drop daily hints about the album before officially announcing the album and releasing “The Story” the same day.
Gray began his career as a YouTuber in 2013 at the age of nine. Following years of vlogs and other videos, he debuted his first single, “Idle Town,” in March 2017. Following his success, Apple Music announced that Gray was its April 2020 Up Next Artist.
