Stacey Abrams to Release Her First Thriller Novel ‘While Justice Sleeps’
Stacey Abrams has been a major advocate for voting rights in Georgia and was pivotal in turning the state blue in the 2020 presidential election. Abrams also headed up a campaign to become the Governor of Georgia in 2018, losing by a small margin of 2%. While making huge changes in our nation Abrams has also managed to write two novels. Her third novel titled While Justice Sleeps is set to release May 11.
Abrams decided to focus on what she knows best: Politics. The novel is set to be published by Penguin Random House, who called it a “Supreme Court thriller.” Focused on a young law clerk named Avery Keene, the novel details the events following Keene’s boss falling into a coma while she is appointed his legal guardian and is given power of attorney. Her boss just so happens to be the swing vote on many upcoming landmark Supreme Court cases.
While in this tough situation Keene has to deal with an extremely complex Supreme Court case. This case has to do with an American biotech company and an Indian genetics firm proposing a merger. She works to unveil the truth behind this merger. Keene does so by figuring out “clues” left by her boss, who did extensive research into the topic. Will, it really bring about “breathtaking results in the medical field”? or is there something brewing deep beneath the surface of this business move?
