Drake to Become Artist of the Decade at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards
Drake will be crowned Artist of The Decade at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards for having the most top 10 songs in history on the Hot 100 charts. The multi-talented Canadian rapper had his first appearance on the Billboard charts back in 2009 with “Best I Ever Had.” It became his first top ten song, ranking at number two.
On May 23, Drake will officially receive the Artist of The Decade award for dominating the charts consecutively throughout the years. The 34-year-old celebrated by taking to Instagram with a repost announcement by NBC and dining with recording artist Ronald Isley.
The Scorpion rapper is one of the top artists of the 2010s, and his domination of the Hot 100 charts has earned the musical artist nominations in seven categories at the 2021 BBMAs. In addition, Drake is the only solo artist to exceed more than 50 career weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, with 45 of his songs ranked in the top 10. Some of the hit songs include “In My Feelings,” “Nice For What,” and “What’s My Name?” featuring Rihanna.
Team Drizzy, Drake’s fanbase, expressed their excitement about the rapper’s achievement on social media. Many fans have been with Drake through it all—the YMCMB days, “Hotline Bling” memes, and countless collaborations.
