Leslie Jones Hosts the MTV Movie & TV Awards in Dazzling Fit By Kristian Lorén
Comedian and actress Leslie Jones hosted the MTV Movie & TV Awards on May 16 in a sparkling, emerald blazer and matching pants designed by Philadelphia native designer, Kristian Lorén. Jones paired the jewel-toned set with a white bustier bodysuit with mesh and white pumps.
With just four days to perfect the look, Lorén documented the process of creating the look, from cutting out the fabric to shipping it off just in time for the show. In a brief Reel posted on Instagram, Lorén narrates how she drafted the patterns and measured the material to create the perfect fit in honor of the occasion.
Lorén’s passion for fashion started at an early age. She would style looks from household fabrics like tablecloths and curtains, often putting together fashion shows for her mother, using her sister as her model. Lorén went on to study design at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and worked her way up to a senior modeling agent behind the scenes.
I knew I liked you for more than just your comedy, which is hilarious. But I saw you tonight supporting Black designers with your outfit up on stage (Kristian Loren). Kudos to you for that alone! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽You were awesome up there and you made a lifelong fan today. LIFELONG!

In 2018, Essence named Lorén as a ‘Designer to Watch’. With her designs being sold at Bloomingdale’s, a collaboration with the children’s brand, Janie and Jack, and the recent debut of her new collection at Harlem’s Fashion Row at New York Fashion Week, Lorén is definitely an up-and-coming designer to look out for.
