Filmmaker Joss Whedon’s reputation continues to be tainted as accusations of a toxic workplace on the set of Justice League continue to increase. Justice League star Gal Gadot is the most recent person to call out the filmmaker’s despicable behavior, as he consistently threatened Gadot’s career.

Gadot sat down with the Israeli news outlet N12 to discuss the verbal abuse from the filmmaker. Gadot said, “He kind of threatened my career and said if I did something, he would make my career miserable. I handled it on the spot.”

Gadot and Whedon would always clash due to creative differences. Gadot refused to record lines that she did not approve of, as well as pushed back on the direction in which Whedon tried to push her Wonder Woman character.

Furthermore, a production eyewitness revealed how Whedon would brag about the fact that he has it out for Gadot. Whedon allegedly said, “He’s the writer and he’s going to shut up and make her say the lines and he can make her look incredibly stupid in this movie.”

Gadot’s experience is just one of many that the cast members faced on set. Ray Fisher also expressed his concerns and experience with Whedon. Fisher stated that Whedon was “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable,”

Fisher continued to say that Whedon’s behavior was enabled by two of the executives at Warner Bros. Unfortunately, Fisher says that this is most likely the reason why he was dropped from The Flash film.

On the other hand, Gal Gadot expressed her satisfaction with the way Warner Bros. handled the situation despite the fact that Whedon was uncooperative during the investigation.

Gadot told the news outlet, “I know that they’ve done a very thorough investigation, even just by how much time I spent with them… I don’t know what [remedial action] means either. I’m curious to know what’s going to be the outcome.”

Joss Whedon was brought onto the set of Justice League after Zack Snyder had to step away from the film due to a family emergency. As it turns out, not only was Whedon abusive and unprofessional, but the result of the film was disappointing.

The film failed to resonate with critics. Viewers even started the campaign #Snydercut to ask the production company to release the original, uncut 4-hour film.

Whedon and his team have yet to comment on any of the allegations.
