Music Festival Lollapalooza Announces This Year’s Official Lineup
The annual four-day summer music festival, Lollapalooza, announced its lineup for 2021 on May 19. Headliners will include Megan Thee Stallion, Foo Fighters, and Post Malone.
Lollapalooza made an exciting announcement on Instagram. The festival will take place July 29 through August 1 in Grant Park in Chicago. Performers include Miley Cyrus, Marshmello, Roddy Ricch, and Tyler, the Creator. Founded in 1991, the festival usually attracts about 100,000 people each day.
Megan Thee Stallion posted a sci-fi-themed video on Instagram announcing her upcoming performance at the festival.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot posted a Twitter video saying that attendees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide a negative test. Dave Grohl greeted fans in the video, saying, “What’s up, Chicago? I’ll see you this summer with my good friends, the Foo Fighters.”

According to a news release from the City of Chicago’s official website, Mayor Lightfoot announced the reopening of Lollapalooza at full capacity. She said, “Here in Chicago, the word ‘Lollapalooza’ has always been synonymous with summer, great music, and four days of unforgettable fun — which made last year’s decision to postpone it all the more difficult. Now, less than a year later and armed with a vaccine that is safe, effective, and widely available, we are able to bring back one of our city’s most iconic summer music festivals.”
Fans expressed their excitement about the lineup on Twitter.
