Paul Feig Shares First Look at Netflix’s ‘School For Good and Evil’
On May 19, director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) shared a behind-the-scenes first look photo of the upcoming Netflix film, School for Good and Evil. Two of the film’s stars, Kerry Washington and Charlize Theron, also shared additional images of them in costume and character.
The image shows Theron, Washington, and Feig goofing around on set. Moreover, the first look also gives audiences a sneak peek into the Renee Ehrlich Kalfus designed costumes and style of the film. The other images shared give closer detail into Theron’s Lady Lesso and Washington’s Professor Dovey.
School for Good and Evil is an adaptation of Soman Chainani’s best-selling fantasy series of the same name. The film will establish a world based on fairytale legends where young students train at either the School for Good or the School for Evil.
Joining Washington and Theron are Sophia Anne Caruso (Beetlejuice) and Sofia Wylie (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), who star as two best friends that get accepted into opposing schools. Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Flatters, and Kit Young (Shadow and Bone) also star in the film.
All the School for Good and Evil updates made my mind go wild that I can’t even think properly and I can only say that I’m screaming internally 😂 #SchoolForGoodandEvil

When author Chainani shared the three images on Instagram, he gave fans insight into the development of the two characters. He based Lesso off of his seventh-grade English teacher, while Dovey is an “homage” to Mrs. Dalloway.
David Magee and Laura Solon will write the screenplay for the adaptation, while Zack Roth, Patricia Riggen, and Soman Chainani serve as the film’s executive producers. Paul will pull double duty as the film’s director and producer alongside Joe Roth, Jeffrey Kirschenbaum, Jane Startz, and Laura Fischer.
