Lorde Has Booked Primavera Sound 2022: Fans Believe New Music Is Coming
The Primavera Sound Festival has announced its star-studded lineup for 2022 and fans are going crazy as Lorde is confirmed to take the Barcelona stage. Primavera will mark the New Zealand singer’s first live show in over two years. Lorde has yet to release a follow-up to her critically acclaimed second album, Melodrama but after this shocking announcement, fans are hopeful Lorde will be releasing new music.
Lorde has remained mum on the details of her third studio album but Primavera has hinted that Lorde will be releasing new music soon. According to their website, it is stated, “Or Lorde, who will emerge from her retirement after her unforgettable visit in 2018.” During her memorable festival performance, Lorde covered Frank Ocean’s “Lost” as well as much of her Melodrama album. In addition, she also played “Tennis Court” and the Grammy-winning song “Royals” off her 2013 debut album, Pure Heroine.

The year 2018 had been a very busy time for Lorde as she also embarked on an extensive tour in support of her 2017 album, Melodrama. The Melodrama World Tour had been highly successful, commencing in September 2017 and lasting until November 2018. Khalid, Mitski, Run the Jewels, and Tove Styrke had been her opening acts.
