Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s Powerful Documentary Is Nominated for an NTA
On May 25, the National Television Awards voting opened and Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s documentary called Race, Pop & Power is nominated. Currently, the Little Mix singer is nominated in the category “Authored Documentary.”

From Little Mix’s social media accounts, Pinnock wrote, “Thank you to everyone who’s watched my documentary so far. If you’ve not had chance yet, it’s still available on @BBCiPlayer.” She continued, “We’ve just found out the documentary has been longlisted at the @OfficialNTAs 🖤 Would mean the world to me if you could vote.”

Race, Pop & Power is a 59 minute documentary about Pinnock’s experiences as the only Black member in Little Mix. According to BBC, the documentary gives insight into Pinnock’s discussions on racism and difficulties within the music industry. To get a glimpse into the Little Mix singer’s experience, she opened up about being told, “you’re the black girl, you have to work ten times harder,” a decade ago.

In other news, not only was Pinnock nominated for Race, Pop & Power, but she is also nominated for an NTA with Little Mix. Specifically, Little Mix’s Little Mix The Search is nominated in the “Talent Show” category. To give some background, the series followed Little Mix while they searched for the next talented boy band.
