25-year-old singer and actress, Dove Cameron, talks about finding herself and accepting her sexual identity despite the difficulty of growing up in the spotlight. She inspired fans with a stunning magazine cover and interview on May 28.

Per Gay Times, Dove Cameron looked sultry and confident for her first LGBTQ+ magazine cover. The media company posted its dazzling cover of the Emmy Award-winning actress wearing a light pink crop top, silver jewelry, and shimmery makeup on Instagram.

The star built a large fanbase from Disney’s Liv and Maddie, where she played both title characters and won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in a Children’s, Preschool Children’s or Educational and Informational Program in 2018. However, when she stepped back from Hollywood and went through a breakup, she struggled to find herself. She says, “I was at the end of a very big chapter closing in my life and I was struggling to focus on myself, so when the relationship ended, I was having a hard time stepping back into my power and focusing on where I was.”

The “We Belong” singer also remembers, “I’ve hinted at my sexuality for years while being afraid to spell it out for everybody.” A big part of her mental and emotional growth was coming out as bisexual to her fans over a year ago. “I went on Instagram Live and said ‘Guys, I really needed to explain something to you. Maybe I haven’t said it, but I’m super queer. This is something I want to represent through my music because it’s who I am.’”

Being more comfortable in her own identity, Cameron was able to shine again and book more acting gigs, such as Powerpuff on the CW, and Field Notes on Love with former co-star Jordan Fisher on HBO Max. She has also expanded her music career and embraced her sexuality in her songs.

Fans showed their support for the star’s sexuality on Twitter.
