K-Pop Boy Group Monsta X Releases Music Video For Their New Song ‘Gambler’
K-Pop boy group Monsta X officially released their ninth mini album, One Of A Kind. The album was released in tandem with a music video for their focus track “Gambler”. The new album comes after the release of the group’s Korean album, Fatal Love, in November 2020. Check out the music video for “Gambler” below.
The title of the album, One Of A Kind, is a nod to the dynamic the group shares and their compatibility with one another. Monsta X produces high-quality, cinematic music videos to complement their unity and teamwork as a band, which currently consists of six members: Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M. Billboard stated that “The Oceans Eleven-style heist visual for the finger-snapping R&B slow-burner finds the six-piece band playing a team of bespoke thieves scheming to steal a treasure from an auction and blacking out the city with a bomb.”

“Gambler” depicts a passion and danger that requires a leap of faith in the name of love. The lyrics and video are filled with an overwhelming sense of suspense, emotion, mystery, and a magnetic attraction between a man and the woman he has fallen for. The video is set to be similar to a crime film filled with anticipation. Joohoney states “it’s a song that’s unforgettable; a song that you keep wanting to listen to; a song that you want to repeat after. I’d like to say that it’s literally the best song.”
The members of the band worked together to make this album everything they wanted it to be, involving themselves in composing, producing, and songwriting throughout this whole album. Joohoney, one of the group’s rappers, produced “Gambler”, while another rapper, I.M, who recently dropped his first solo mini-album Duality, composed and arranged tracks on One Of A Kind. Hyungwon, who is also active as DJ H.ONE, participated in producing his self-composed track for the second time since his debut on the track “BEBE.” Hyungwon says “I’ve always wanted to write a song dedicated to my fans, and this was a great opportunity for me to make that wish come true. I want them to feel loved by me, and us Monsta X, and realize how much we love and think of them.”
