Three Anticipated Albums for Summer ‘21
After a challenging year for music, artists all over are ready to come out of the gate or quarantine, swinging with hot new albums sure to set off any barbecue. This year fans continue to talk about albums that smashed the charts throughout the year, like The Weeknd’s After Hours, Ariana Grande’s Positions, and the unexpected trilogy Folklore by Taylor Swift. The bar is set high, and fans are expecting the same energy this summer.
Here are some of the most anticipated albums for summer 2021.
Drake, Certified Lover Boy
Certified Lover Boy will finally be released after being delayed multiple times despite its 90% completion in July 2020. Drake is known for his “lover boy” persona, and fans know that he will not disappoint, making this summer the summer of love songs. Much like his other love songs like “Best I Ever Had,” it is expected that some of these anthems will be staples in everyone’s playlist for a long time.
There is no set release date for Certified Lover Boy at the moment.

Billie Eilish, Happier Than Ever
Billie Eilish has been topping the charts for about two years now, and it doesn’t look like she’s slowing down anytime soon. The first single, “Your Power,” has been released, which showcases her newfound maturity without losing her unique style. Her freshman album, When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Reached massive success and catapulted Eilish to stardom, fans anticipate that this sophomore album will be another chart-topping and award-winning project.
Happier Than Ever will be released on July 30.

Lil Nas X, Montero
This album is probably one of the most anticipated albums on this list as Lil Nas X has proved that he is not just a one-hit-wonder with Old Town Road. After releasing “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” fans and critics alike were astonished by the boundaries he broke in the video and the marketing tactics used to promote it. Nonetheless, Lil Nas X performed twice on the season finale of SNL, where he recreated the scandalous video and came out in an all-white suit with less of a production to focus on his vocals and lyricism. This versatility is keeping fans excited for the release of this new album.
There is no set release date for Montero at the moment.
