Wolf Alice Release New Album ‘Blue Weekend’
The British alternative rock and dream-pop band Wolf Alice have released their third studio album, Blue Weekend. The album is a follow-up to Visions of a Life, released in 2017. Blue Weekend is arguably the group’s best album.
Wolf Alice began teasing their latest album back in February. The stunning multi-colored photoshoot that would be the album cover had been done by Jordan Hemingway. The band then expressed their excitement for their fans to hear the album they have worked so hard on. After almost four months of waiting, Wolf Alice delivered their most cohesive and dreamy album to date.
The first single for Blue Weekend had been “The Last Man On Earth.” Ellie Rowsell, the lead singer of Wolf Alice, spoke about the inspiration she found to write the powerful anthem. The song gets at the arrogance of humans, a concept Rowsell found particularly striking when reading Kurt Vonnegut’s postmodernist novel, Cat’s Cradle. She tells Rolling Stone, “Why does everything need to mean something more?”
Wolf Alice has continued to promote their album ahead of its release. The band teamed up with Bleach London for a limited edition blue hair dye of the album’s title. The beautiful blue hue has encouraged fans from all over the world to have blue hair, even if it is just for the weekend.
Bleach London took to their social media writing, “Bluetifully unconventional,” which pays homage to their song “Beautifully Unconventional” off the band’s second album, Visions of a Life. Bleach also posted a blue-hued balayage to their page, showing how nice the color comes out.
It is certainly hard to pick a favorite song off Blue Weekend, but fans have stormed social media to share their thoughts about the best track.

Rather delighted to see full five stars everywhere for Wolf Alice. Always had great songs, but the new album is exhilarating, edgy, and they’re terrific people too. Best of Blue Weekend? Delicious Things, Smile, that fantastic feeling when a band entirely knows what it’s doing
