Four years after her last studio album release, New Zealand-born singer-songwriter, Lorde, announced she is releasing a new album in 2021.

On Monday, June 7, Lorde posted on her website hinting at the first single, Solar Power. The album title was accompanied by a note saying, “Arriving in 2021… patience is a virtue”. The cover art features a cheeky photo of Lorde leaping by the beach.

Fans have anxiously waited for new music from Lorde since her last album Melodrama, which debuted in 2017. A tweet began circulating earlier this month that the singer would release two singles from her upcoming album sometime in June, stirring fans’ interests.

Lorde announced that she would be performing at Primavera Festival in Barcelona in 2022 earlier this year, which first sparked rumors of her grand return to music after a hiatus. Last year, Lorde also mentioned that she once again collaborated with Jack Antonoff, with who she previously worked on Melodrama

The album would mark Lorde’s third studio album, following Pure Heroine, which debuted in 2013, and Melodrama from 2017. There is currently no information on exactly when the single will be released, but fans are excited about her return.
