‘A Black Lady Sketch Show’ Has Been Renewed for a New Season

HBO has renewed sketch comedy series, A Black Lady Sketch Show for a third season. The Emmy-nominated series was renewed and announced shortly before delivering the last laughs for the season two finale which recently premiered Friday, May 28.

HBO has renewed sketch comedy series, A Black Lady Sketch Show for a third season. The Emmy-nominated series was renewed and announced shortly before delivering the last laughs for the season two finale which recently premiered Friday, May 28.

After a knee-slapping season two finale, viewers may be anticipating the third serving of Robin Thede’s playground of laughter.

According to Deadline, Thede said in a statement, “Making A Black Lady Sketch Show is a dream come true and I’m honored to continue our incredible series and wonderful partnership with HBO, Issa Rae, JAX Media, and our entire producing team.”

The successful season two premiered on Friday, April 23, with episode one, “The Tilapias Are Fine Though, Right?” Starring Robin Thede herself, Laci Mosely, Ashley Nicole Black, and Gabrielle Dennis.

The first season of the all-black cast comedy series received three Primetime Emmy nominations with the addition of Outstanding Variety Sketch Series, Directing For a Variety Series and Guest Actress with the likes of the talented Angela Bassett.

Although there is no exact date on the premiere of season three, viewers can binge-watch season two of A Black Lady Sketch Show on HBO Max or with a premium subscription with Amazon Prime.
