Jimmy Choo and Billy Porter Release Gender-Neutral Shoe Collection
Jimmy Choo and Billy Porter have teamed up to release a gender-neutral, inclusive shoe collection with extended sizing. In honor of the collection, the British fashion company donated $100,000 to The Trevor Project.
In the launch video for the collection, the beginning started with a snippet of Porter stating, “The only shoes I need to be stepping in are my own.” The video continues with dreamy-like music playing over a compilation of Porter modeling in his own fashion show for the shoes.
The 51-year-old American actor and singer curated the new shoe collection that consists of Jimmy Choo silhouettes that are designed in bold jewel colors and animal print. Specifically, there are different shoes such as biker boots, suede pumps, ankle boots, and more. Ranging from sizes EU36 to EU45, the collection offers a variety of sizes for many wanting to wear gender-neutral and inclusive shoes.
On Jimmy Choo’s website, Porter expressed, “The collection is dedicated to my mother, whose biggest dream as a disabled woman was to be able to walk in a pair of high heeled shoes. She never got to achieve that dream, but I get to stand in proxy for her for all the world to see.”
