As Deadline first reported, Meet Cute‘s premise is “a wildly inventive deconstruction of the romantic comedy built around the question: What would you do if you could travel to your loved ones’ past, heal their traumas, fix their problems, and change them into the perfect partner?” Keeping this interesting plotline in mind, it is revealed that Cuoco’s character’s name is Sheila, and Davidson’s is Gary.

Unfortunately, Davidson is not on Instagram, but Cuoco is. She shared with her 6.7M Instagram followers the exciting news along with the caption, “This one’s gonna be real ‘cute,'” followed by winking face emojis. She received a lot of positive comments and praise on her page shortly after posting.

Cuoco has been on fire lately. She recently inked a lucrative deal with Warner Bros. for her production company, Yes Norman, making for a 15-year relationship. Cuoco was also heavily involved in the development and production of The Flight Attendant, the critically-acclaimed comedy she stars in. The Flight Attendant is currently renewed for a second season; the series follows Cuoco as Cassandra Bowden. The role had Cuoco nominated for a SAG Award and Golden Globe. Cuoco took to Instagram to share an emotional video for her nomination as Cassandra Bowden. Cuoco has also been tapped to play the legendary Doris Day in a limited series based on A.E. Hotchner’s 1976 biography, Doris Day: Her Own Story.

Davidson, on the other hand, has been a part of SNL since 2014. Apart from his life as a stand-up comedian, he can also be found in films The Dirt and Big Time Adolescence. Davidson is also known for his film, The King of Staten Island, a film he co-wrote and starred in based on his own life. He will also be on the big screen for James Gunn’s sequel to The Suicide Squad, out on August 6.

Davidson has also been tapped to play legendary punk rocker Joey Ramone, frontman of The Ramones. In addition to this role later on in the future, Davidson has also been cast in Rupert Sanders’ film adaptation of Tim O’Brien’s war novel, The Things They Carried, which follows the story of platoon soldiers during the Vietnam War. That film will star Tom Hardy, Tye Sheridan, and Bill Skarsgard.

Despite Cuoco and Davidson’s hectic schedules, Meet Cute will be an interesting collaboration between the two talented actors. More news will certainly be unfolding. Be sure to stream their film credits on HBO Max or Hulu.
