New Hulu Series Starring Selena Gomez Drops Exciting Teaser Video
Selena Gomez is set to star in a Hulu comedic mystery series called Only Murders in the Building, with Steve Martin and Martin Short. Steve Martin collaborated with John Hoffman to create this series. The idea came from the mind of Steve Martin himself. The show’s news dropped in June 2020, and the announcement of Gomez joining the cast was released in August while the trailer was released today.

The intro to the tailor asks the question, “how well do you know your neighbors?”
The show follows three neighbors in a New York apartment building who share “an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped in one.” Upon hearing about a murder in their building, the trio begins to investigate. They record a podcast as they unravel the case and discover secrets, many of which date back years ago. The deeper they dig, the more dangerous the lies they tell each other get, and they begin to see that the killer could be amongst them.

Mystery, comedy, suspense, the show has it all. In addition, the cast includes Gomez as Mabel while Steve as Charles, Martin as Oliver, Aaron Dominguez as Oscar, and Amy Ryan as Jan. Not only are Steve Martin and John Hoffman are executive producers and creators, but Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Jamie Babbit, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal will serve as producers as well.
“Every true crime story is actually true for someone,” Martin says in the trailer. “I can’t tell if I want it to be nothing or for it to be something,” Gomez adds.
The show is set to premiere on August 31.
