The Touching New Trailer for ‘Joe Bell’ Has Been Released
The first exclusive trailer for the film Joe Bell has been released. The film is based on a true story and stars Mark Wahlberg, Connie Britton, Gary Sinise, and Reid Miller. Diana Ossana and Larry McMurtry, known for co-writing the 2005 film Brokeback Mountain, penned the screenplay. Reinaldo Marcus Green is the director of the emotional film.
Wahlberg took to social media to share the news of this important film, as the Bell family’s story has profoundly changed and impacted Wahlberg. He will be playing Joe Bell, the father of Jadin Bell (played by Reid Miller). The film will focus on Jadin and Joe’s tragic endings. Jadin had committed suicide in 2013 at just fifteen due to the horrific bullying he endured for being gay. Joe Bell began a cross-country walk to honor the memory of his late son, where he was tragically struck and killed by a truck in October 2013.
This family and their story touched my heart in a big way. Check out our new trailer for @joebellthemovie. In theaters July 23. #JoeBellMovie pic.twitter.com/fD7KSrMRVT

The trailer begins with Wahlberg and Miller walking along an open road in La Grande, where Miller’s character Jadin asks his father, Joe if he were him, would he rather live in La Grande or New York. His father cites his love for La Grande, where Miller stops Wahlberg saying that New York has Broadway and Lady Gaga. This prompts Miller to belt out Lady Gaga’s hit song “Born This Way,” and his father joins. This adorable moment showcases the father and son to be a close duo. However, as the trailer progresses, one can see how difficult Jadin and Joe’s lives are. Jadin is getting bullied in school for being gay, and his father seems to be in denial over it.
