‘Sex Education’ Returns to Netflix With a New Season This September
Netflix Original Sex Education is returning after a 20-month hiatus with its third season on Friday, September 17, the date announced on Netflix’s official Twitter page.
The third season will contain eight episodes, not veering off the episode count of previous seasons.
To catch up where it was left off, season three plans on continuing the story of Otis (Asa Butterfield) and Maeve (Emma Mackey) in their “will they, won’t they” dilemma, Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) and Adam (Connor Swindells) making their relationship official, and much more to discuss.

The new season was held up due to the pandemic, as the original date was setting to be in February 2020. Cast members isolated back in September 2020 to allow the show to wrap up production in March 2021.
Throughout the seasons of Sex Education thus far, the series has covered grand-scale issues in a way that is not pandering and overused. The main pull to this show and reason for its continued success is the layered characterization of each person and does not fall into the cliché’d dramatization of a teen’s sex life.

It is no surprise this series continues to thrive in a setting where relatability is key to success, and Sex Education proceeds to do it right, especially with diverse casting.
We don’t know the complete cast list yet, but the first round of additions is enough to excite fans for what’s in store.
