Cameron Monaghan to Star in New Thriller ‘Shattered’
Cameron Monaghan, Lily Krug, and John Malkovich are among those who will star in the upcoming action-thriller Shattered. This movie is about a romance turned sour, directed by Luis Prieto and written by David Loughery. Actors Sasha Luss, Ash Santos, Frank Grillo, and Ridley Bateman will also appear in the thriller, making for a well-rounded cast.
The movie centers around Chris (Monaghan), a reclusive yet wealthy bachelor, who, after a terrible accident, has his world turned upside down by an enigmatic beauty, Sky (Krug). Sky becomes Chris’s caregiver and moves in to take care of him. Little does Chris know that Sky’s intentions are anything but good.
Soon, Chris is a victim of a robbery coordinated by Sky. She reveals her true intentions as a con artist and traps Chris in his own home. Unfortunately, his ex-wife Jamie and daughter Willow show up and become Sky’s prisoners. Action, thriller, mystery—this movie will have you on the edge of your seat, wanting to know more.
When asked about the movie, Director Prieto stated, “From the moment I read the script, I loved the creative challenges and opportunities that Shattered presented. To take the audience on the journey from a romance film at the start to an all-out thriller by the story’s conclusion, was a big attraction for me, and when talent of the level of John and Frank came in to support Lilly and Cameron, I knew we could have a special movie.”
Shattered writer Loughery added, “It’s been a pleasure to work with such a talented team. Our goal from the start was to make a film that will keep the audience in suspense from start to finish, with a lot of shocks and surprises along the way.”
Fans are already excited to see Monaghan in the new thriller following his beloved role as Ian in Shameless and his more sinister characters, Jerome and Jeremiah Valeska, in Gotham.
