On July 2, Cara took to social media to announce her upcoming album and release two new songs before the album drops. Surprising fans with the cover art for the song, Cara is featured in vibrant makeup and vibrant background in the image for “Sweet Dream.” Switching from vibrant to more relaxed, “Shapeshifter” features what appears to be Cara in a white dress, holding a vintage telephone. Having her pictures taken by photographer Olivia Aita, styling by Chris Horan, hair and makeup done by Malcolm Marquez and Zara Kaplan, Cara looks beautiful in these cover art images. She also credits Kid. Studio on Instagram for creating the artwork for the pictures.

Cara had been hinting at new content for her fans via Twitter for a little while, and with today’s announcement, fans are finally putting things together and getting the answers they were looking for. On June 28 and subsequent days after, Cara posted a few photos via Twitter which sent many fans into detective mode, trying to decipher what she was alluding to. Along with the photos were a series of emojis, which many believed could help them figure out song titles, or possibly when the album would come out. After making today’s announcement, fans finally put some clues together, and others didn’t quite catch the hints, while Cara expressed her own relief, tweeting, “I can finally talk about it!!!! flipping OUT!! I gave sO MANY DAMN HINTS”.

Getting her recognition from doing covers on Youtube, Cara truly took off when she released her anti-party anthem “Here” back in 2015. Since then, the 24-year-old has become a Grammy-winning artist, taking part in large movie soundtracks like Disney’s Moana and playing the role of Jane Willoughby in the Netflix movie, The Willoughbys. Cara has also been featured on the soundtrack for the two-season Netflix show; The Get Down. “Sweet Dream” and “Shapeshifter” will be released on July 15, and more information about the full album hopefully will be out soon.
