Ariana Grande Releases Gorgeous Vevo Performance of ‘my hair’

Ariana Grande has shared her stunning performance of “my hair,” marking her third exclusive performance on Vevo. All of Grande’s song selections come from her sixth studio album, Positions, which was released in October 2020.

Grande’s first performance on Vevo had been “POV,” the final track of the album. Her second performance had been “safety net,” her collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign. Both proved to be a huge success.

Grande’s third performance proves to be no different; the performance further highlights her insane vocal abilities. The eighth track off the album, “my hair,” is notoriously known for Grande’s use of whistle notes, which is the highest phonation register. Through the implementation of whistle notes, it makes the song that much more difficult to sing. Other female greats have used whistle notes in their songs such as Mariah Carey and the late Minnie Riperton.

Grande’s performance of “my hair” is much more intimate than her previous two performances, as she sits on a stool, wowing the audience with her effortless vocals. Grande wore her famous signature ponytail. As the lyrics to “my hair” read, “It got body and it’s smooth to touch / The same way as my skin,” further emphasizes Grande’s voluminous ponytail.

Grande took to Instagram to share her thanks to her band for pulling off yet another incredible performance. She also gave a special shout-out to Rashawn Ross for lending his talented trumpet skills on the track.

Grande also shared some photos and a short glimpse of the enchanted, fairy-like performance. Grande sits on the stool among a garden of flowers and pink light that illuminates the stage.
