Unfortunately, fans of the Emmy nominated series will have to wait a bit longer for the raunchiness to return.

The crew has halted production twice in one week, and Deadline reports the disruption will be upheld for an “indefinite period of time.”

At first, there was a 24-hour suspension after a member of the team tested positive for COVID-19. But soon after, another person received a positive test.

Netflix has not confirmed if the second person was an actor from the show or someone from the production team, but they have been noted to be in isolation to align with CDC protocols.

Bridgerton’s team has yet to decide on a concrete return date as the Delta variant is causing a grand surge of COVID-19 cases in the UK. At the time of writing this, there has been a 46.1k increase in cases.

Bridgerton is produced in the UK by Shondaland, and it utilizes the country’s historical architecture to tell the story of Julia Quinn’s novel series.

Fans of the show first dealt with a low blow after beloved character Simon Basset, played by Regé-Jean Page, was confirmed not to be returning for season two.

The executive producer Shonda Rhimes told E! that his departure was an unavoidable goodbye,

“Regé was just doing what his character was written to do—ride off, alive, into his happily ever after.”
