Fans suspect that The Weeknd is gearing up for an album drop, per his latest social media cleanse and cryptic Tweets. The “Blinding Lights” singer has been hinting at new music for months now, and it appears that the time has come.

In what some are calling The Weeknd’s “Reputation” era, the Grammy Award-winning artist is distancing himself from his previous work. He put his 2020 album “After Hours” behind him. Along with the countless No. 1 tracks, Superbowl performances, and awards shows that resulted from the album.

Now, his Instagram page is blank – no photos, profile, stories, or tags. Though his 32.6 million followers remain, all eager to see what The Weeknd is up to. Fans are recounting nearly ten years of albums, each one with its own distinct era.

“I might have another album ready to go by the time this quarantine is over,” The Weeknd told Variety back in May. “I’m guilty of wanting to outdo my last album, but it’s never like, ‘I’ve got to do the same type of song.’ My palette is so wide.”

This supported further evidence seen on Twitter in April. The Tweet read, “Made so much magic in the small quarantined room … now just piecing it all together … it’s so beautiful.”

Just last week, Belly debuted the hit song “Better Believe” featuring The Weeknd and Young Thug. While it’s unclear if the song will be apart of The Weeknd’s upcoming mystery album, at least its something until the day a new Dawn arrives.
