Clifford the Big Red Dog is based on the 1963 beloved children’s book series by Norman Bridwell. Over time, the books were adapted into a television show and now a movie. The film centers around middle schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp), who adopts a red puppy from a magical animal rescuer. Unbeknownst to Emily that her new puppy Clifford will grow over 10 feet, she can’t contain the pup by herself. While her mother is away on a business trip, Emily and her Uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) embark on an adventure in New York City with the big red dog.

In addition to Darby Camp and Jack Whitehouse, Sienna Guillory, John Cleese, and Kenan Thompson will star. Rumors speculate that Clifford may have a dark past and might have to face another giant. The movie is a hybrid, a mixture of live-action and animation. The big, lovable pup is brought to life by CGI, but there have been mixed reactions from fans describing Clifford as “terrifying.”
