The Weeknd Dawns a New Era With Multiple Enticing Teasers
Coming to social media with a few cryptic tweets and a deleted Instagram feed, award-winning artist The Weeknd is leaving beyond his After Hours era. Calling this new era “The Dawn is Coming,” the recent changes to his social media and updates seem to be the start of something new.
From July 27 through 29, Abel Tesfaye, otherwise known as The Weeknd, begun a series of tweets and changes to social media that all seemed to be hinting at new music. Telling his fans, “anyways ima feed ya’ll soon. pbj for your ears”, the singer is ready to feed his fans with new content. Making it official late night on August 1, the singer tweeted, “f*ck it… IT STARTS TONIGHT,” which sent his fanbase ablaze with questions and ideas about what exactly was on its way.

On August 2, the singer kept up his hinting and teasers with a short teaser video showcasing “The Dawn is Coming.” The snippet appears to be the sound of a possible new single and features a stunning horizon zooming past the screen, alongside The Weeknd singing over the clip. Along with the new video, the singer also released a new photo on his Instagram, making it his first post since revamping his page. With The Weeknd coming in hot with new updates and changes, his fanbase has not been able to contain their excitement lately.

While working on his new era, The Weeknd has been quite involved in performances and has been on a roll with winning awards and new content. The singer was recently honored at the First Black Music Coalition Awards Ceremony and is working on a new cult series for HBO. The singer has continued to promote his After Hours heavily, era inviting a friend and fellow singer Ariana Grande to perform with him at the iHeartRadio Music Awards a few weeks ago.
